Harrogate is an up market and affluent town in North Yorkshire, ideally situated near to Leeds and Bradford and has a rich culture and history as one of the primary upper class retreats for Northern England. The class and sophistication of Harrogate is evidenced in the architecture arising from the town's history as a leading spa resort that first developed in the Victorian era. The town survived the second world war leaving a host of beautiful town houses and a wealth of major wedding locations. As a result, the area around Harrogate is now seen as the wedding capital of England, with major wedding venues such as the outstanding Ripley Castle and the superb Rounding Park in very close proximity. As a Harrogate wedding photographer, Simon has extensive experience at all of the high quality wedding venues in the area.

With vast parklands and estates that have surprisingly remained in tact, there are a host of high quality wedding venues around the Harrogate area and Simon has visited them all. Rudding Park is a mixture of the grandeur of a luxury location combined with a modern taste in design and facilities. This is a beautiful location with first class service, fantastic scenery and indoor locations abound making it one of the most popular of the quality wedding venues in the area. This is a beautiful regency house and Simon has over nine years of experience capturing weddings at this location. The in-depth knowledge of the venue has meant that Simon is now an officially recommended wedding photographer at Rudding Park.
Ripley Castle is another stunning location situated near Harrogate and the word 'unique' just does not provide justice to this location. It has just been voted 'Visitor Attraction of the Year' for 2009 and there are obvious reasons why. The scenery around the Castle is breath taking with a huge lake providing a fantastic backdrop for your wedding images. The interior is equally stunning as you would expect in such an historic venue. There are beautiful contrasts between new and medieval that abound and incorporating these as backdrops and forefronts within the imagery provides unique wedding shots.
Goldsborough Hall is another unique location, Princess Anne's home and offering a stately location for your wedding with stunning gardens, this is well worth a visit. As a location not open to the general public, Goldsborough Hall offers exclusivity emphasised by the quality that abounds throughout the venue. The restoration of the stunning gardens has now been completed to offer a contrast of spectacular backdrop scenery for images with the beautiful gardens as your foreground in your wedding images. The dining is of course first class with an extensive menu available to complement the luxury of the rooms available for your wedding. Simon has photographed at Goldsborough on several occasions and it remains one of his favourite Harrogate wedding locations.
